Smartphone Exposed is a benchmarking application aimed at exposing the differences in smartphone CPUs. Imagine having to choose between two brand new smartphones of the same make and model. To the naked eye, both phones appear the same. In-depth testing, however, may expose one phone to be 20% slower while also consuming 20% more energy.
If you were aware of this stark difference, would you have purchased the worse phone?
Existing benchmark applications provide some rudimentary metrics that help rank phones. However, these benchmarks don't account for one critical factor - temperature. Thus, a terrible smartphone CPU ends up masquerading as a mediocre one if the owner lives in a colder part of the world. SmartphonesExposed on the other hand accounts for temperature while ranking your device. We track both, start and end temperatures and only compare results against other
devices that ran under similar conditions.
